Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Transportation Specialist (Functional – IBS) to support the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role serves as a functional subject matter expert (SME) with hands-on transportation and IBS experience, ensuring system capabilities align with real-world operational needs.The Transportation Specialist collaborates with customers, developers, and testers to translate field-based transportation workflows into system requirements, validate functionality, and improve user experience. The ideal candidate brings operational IBS experience and can effectively support system development in an Agile environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a functional SME for IBS transportation processes, including booking, rating, routing, and shipment management
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements and workflows
- Translate operational needs into user stories and functional specifications
- Troubleshoot IBS-related functional issues and support Help Desk activities
- Conduct functional and integration testing to validate system updates
- Develop test scenarios and Test Recommendation Documents
- Deliver demonstrations and briefings to stakeholders
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Identify gaps between system functionality and operational use and recommend improvements
- Support developers and testers during defect resolution
Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance
- 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or freight operations
- Hands-on experience using IBS or similar systems in an operational environment
- Familiarity with DoD transportation processes
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or IBS in a field role
- Understanding of transportation financial processes (rating, billing, reconciliation)
- Familiarity with EDI/XML transactions
- Experience supporting testing or UAT
- Experience in Agile environments
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools
