What are the responsibilities and job description for the Election Night Reporter- Florence County position at Decision Desk HQ?
Decision Desk HQ is hiring individuals to relay unofficial election results from Wisconsin’s Spring Election on April 7, 2026. Those hired must arrive at their assigned location by 7:45PM and update the results as they come in using our data entry system and communications server. This same gig will be available again during the state primary and the November general election.
Skills
- Timeliness: the goal of Decision Desk HQ is to be the first outlet to report results.
- Attention to detail: reporters must be able to enter results accurately.
- Communication: reporters will be able to effectively communicate with election officials while on site.
Requirements
- Must have a smartphone.
- Must have or be willing to install the Discord app (https://www.discord.com)
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be willing to set up an account on Bill.com, to receive electronic payment.
- Must be able to arrive at a designated location 15 minutes before polls close, and have a reliable motor vehicle for travel to and from their assigned locations.
- Reporters will be required to confirm their connection into our Discord server and database ahead of the election, and attend a brief, online preparatory session as listed in the welcome email.
Pay
Decision Desk HQ pays $135 flat for the evening's work on 4/7. Estimated shift length is 4 hours per evening. Payment is issued electronically through Bill.com.
