Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Representative Payee to join our team. The Representative Payee is responsible for managing Social Security, SSI, and other benefit payments for individuals who are unable to independently manage their finances. This position plays a critical role in ensuring clients' financial resources are used responsibly to meet their basic needs while promoting stability, independence, and dignity.
The ideal candidate is committed to serving vulnerable populations, maintains the highest level of integrity and confidentiality, and is comfortable working directly with clients, service providers, and government agencies.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee client benefit funds in accordance with Social Security Administration (SSA) regulations and organizational policies.
- Develop and maintain individual client budgets to ensure funds are used to meet current and future needs.
- Pay rent, utilities, medical expenses, and other approved client expenses in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate financial records, transaction logs, and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile client accounts and monitor balances to ensure proper stewardship of funds.
- Complete required reports and accountings for the SSA and other agencies.
- Meet with clients as needed to review budgets, address concerns, and assess financial needs.
- Collaborate with case managers, caregivers, housing providers, healthcare professionals, and community partners.
- Monitor changes in client circumstances that may affect benefits or financial needs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations regarding fiduciary responsibilities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and financial records.
- Assist with audits, file reviews, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social services, accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, seniors, or other vulnerable populations preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate financial records and manage multiple client accounts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and financial management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a small team environment.
- Knowledge of Social Security benefits and Representative Payee regulations is preferred but not required.

Benefits: Health and Dental Insurance are offered only at 30 hours per week or more.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
