deciBel Research is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to support advanced Modeling and Simulation (MandS) programs that enable critical defense missions. This role integrates software components, digital models, hardware interfaces, and test capabilities into cohesive system workflows.
The position is highly collaborative, working alongside the PMO and other functional engineering disciplines while maintaining a dedicated focus on integration execution, verification planning, test coordination, documentation quality, and technical readiness. Strong engineering fundamentals and rapid learning capability are essential. Prior MandS experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities Include
Systems Integration and Technical Execution
- Lead integration of software components, digital models, hardware interfaces, and test systems for MandS environments.
- Translate system and subsystem requirements into actionable integration tasks, verification steps, and coordinated test activities.
- Develop and maintain integration test plans, procedures, verification matrices, and supporting engineering documentation.
- Support interface definition (ICDs), configuration updates, and controlled baseline management activities.
- Conduct integration events, system checkouts, test readiness reviews, and multi-discipline technical coordination with software, MandS, test, and systems engineering teams.
- Assist with benchmark comparisons of integrated MandS toolchains to validate performance, accuracy, and expected model behavior.
- Identify integration risks early, elevate cross-functional impacts, and coordinate mitigation plans.
- Contribute to model integration workflows such as CAD simplification, mesh preparation, data ingestion, and fidelity evaluation (with structured training provided).
- Collaborate with program management and other internal stakeholders to communicate system status, integration progress, and technical risks.
- Mentor junior engineers on integration methodology, documentation standards, test discipline, and verification best practices.
- Develop or contribute to technical volume content for proposals, including system integration strategies, test concepts, and verification approaches.
- Author technical responses for RFIs, engineering white papers, capability descriptions, and internal planning documents.
- Support cost and schedule estimation for integration activities by documenting assumptions, dependencies, and engineering workflows.
- Assist leadership with technical briefings, architecture descriptions, and customer-facing engineering artifacts.
Bachelor Degree or higher in a related technical field.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10 years of experience in systems integration, test engineering, system development, or lab-based engineering roles.
- Demonstrated experience creating test plans, procedures, verification documents, and technical engineering artifacts.
- Background in hardware/software integration and test system development.
- Experience working within controlled configuration management environments.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Active Secret security clearance.
