Summary/Objective
The DECC is seeking a Security Manager on Duty (MOD) responsible for overseeing campus-wide safety and security operations. This role coordinates and delivers required annual training, right-to-know training, and other essential security programs for staff. Responsibilities also include scheduling, training, and supervising DECC security personnel, as well as providing security coverage for concerts, sporting events, and large conventions. In addition to event coverage, the Security MOD coordinates and schedules daily security rounds throughout the DECC campus to ensure a safe and secure environment. The Security MOD participates in security briefings and works closely with local law enforcement and external event security teams during major events.

- Implement and stay current on security best practices and training
- Coordinate facility and event security with department managers and local law enforcement
- Schedule DECC security staffing for events and daily security rounds
- Serve as security floor manager for large-scale events
- Understand and implement DECC emergency plans and safety signage
- Organize and conduct staff safety and procedural training
- Promote a safety-conscious work environment
- Communicate safety protocols clearly across departments
- Ensure adequate EMT coverage for DECC events
- Maintain and monitor first aid supplies

Required Education and Experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- 1 years related experience and/or training
- 1 years of supervisory experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1 years of security management
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Successful completion of reference checks
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of a drug test, if applicable
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Security MOD will schedule and train DECC Security Staff.
Schedule
This position is part-time with a schedule based on DECC event needs. This position will have day, afternoon, and/or evening shifts scheduled on various days of the week and may include some holidays. Approximately 20 - 24 hours per week.
Uniform
Business casual is expected for office time and black/khaki slacks with a DECC branded shirt will be used when serving as a floor manager. The DECC will provide polos or t-shirts with the DECC logo.
Work Environment
The position will be subject to working in office, DECC Venues both internally and outdoor environments throughout the scope of the DECC Campus. Noise within the work environment can vary from moderate to high levels depending on events within the buildings and outdoors.
Physical Demands
This position will require someone that is able to stand on their feet for many hours at a time, moving quickly to various places based on needs. The Security MOD will need to use their hands frequently, and be able to see, hear, and speak often. This position will require bending and maneuvering, and also the ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
The DECC uses USCIS Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment. On the form, an employee must attest to his or her employment authorization. The employee is required to present the DECC with acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization at the time of hire. The DECC will examine the employment eligibility and identity document(s).
The list of acceptable documents can be provided by Human Resources.
At-Will Employment
This position is at will. This means if you are offered the position and accept, your employment with the DECC is for an indefinite period of time and it is subject to termination by you or the DECC, with or without cause, with or without notice, and at any time. Nothing in this job description or any other policy of the DECC shall be interpreted to be in conflict with or to eliminate or modify in any way, the at will employment status of this position. The at-will employment status of an employee of the DECC may be modified only in a written employment agreement with that employee which is signed by the Executive Director or the Chair of the DECC Board of Directors.
