What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN OPERATING ROOM position at Decatur County Memorial Hospital?

POSITION SUMMARY
- Reports To:
  - Director of OR
- Summary:
  - Employee is primarily responsible for patient care before, after, and during surgery. Employee also prepares, sets-up, and cleans rooms. Employee must be familiar with medications and instruments used. Employee normally performs the duty assignments according to his or her own judgment, requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary. The assignment is reviewed upon completion.
- Work Schedule:
  - Must be able to work non-standard hours in excess of 40 hours per week.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education
  - ASN, BSN, Diploma Degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Experience
  - One to two years related experience
- Computer Skills
  - Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.
  - Must exhibit basic computer knowledge
- Certificates & Licenses
  - Maintains BLS Certification, ACLS preferred. Maintain RN license.
- Other Requirements
  - Math skills to calculate drug dosages, IV dosages and inventory items. May take up to 1 year to become proficient in this position. This position requires frequent standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, lifting and carrying 0-100 lbs and pushing and pulling 0-100 lbs.
