Summary
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room or Med-Surg department at Decatur County Hospital, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role is vital in ensuring that patients receive timely and effective treatment during emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency room or med-surg setting.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess vital signs for all patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patient interactions.
- Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance nursing skills.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.
- Proven experience in hospital medicine or emergency nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations effectively.
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and emergency protocols.
- Basic knowledge of DME and its applications is a plus.
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation standards.
