Duties
- Assist with animal intake, discharge, and daily care routines across various species, including dogs and cats.
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, and treatment areas following aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during examinations and procedures.
- Support veterinary staff with medication administration, injections, catheterizations, and other medical treatments.
- Monitor animals’ health status by observing behavior, vital signs, and physical condition; report any concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, medications administered, and observations in accordance with veterinary protocols.
Requirements
- Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly preferred, but not necessary.
- Experience working in veterinary clinics or with veterinary technicians is advantageous.
- Ability to handle a variety of animals confidently—including dogs with different temperaments—and perform animal restraint effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist clients when needed.
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to stand or walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
