DeCari Pastry Cafe Bakers will create quality baked goods safely and efficiently using established recipes and mixing techniques. The role involves operating kitchen equipment and practicing food safety. Bakers typically work with team member to produce a consistent product.
Common duties include:
Measuring and mixing flour, sugar and other ingredients for recipes
Kneading dough by hand or with equipment, such as a hand or stand mixer
Operating ovens, proofers and mixers
Monitoring baking times and oven temperatures
Applying icings, glazes, decorations and fondant to pastries and cakes
Checking ingredient quality and managing inventory
Following all food safety and sanitation guidelines, such as those of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
Cleaning and maintaining baking equipment, such as rolling pins and kitchen scales
Developing new recipes or modifying existing ones, based on trends or customers’ allergies
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
A food handler’s preferred.
Proven food preparation and food handling experience.
Working knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
The ability to follow standardized recipes.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Salary : $18 - $22
