Expediter Job Description
Reports to: Restaurant Managers/Executive Chef
Job Summary
The Expo is the final line of defense before a plate reaches the guest. You are responsible for coordinating the flow of food from the line to the food runners, garnishing dishes according to our standards, and ensuring order accuracy. The ideal candidate is high-energy, detail-oriented, and can remain calm during a rush.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control: Inspect every plate for presentation, temperature, and accuracy against the ticket. Must learn the food menu in its entirety. Must pay special attention to allergy concerns.
- Communication: Act as the primary liaison between "Back of House" (chefs) and "Front of House" (servers/food runners) to manage timing. Must be able to articulate table/seat numbers accurately to ensure food is being delivered to the correct locations.
- Garnishing: Apply final touches (sauces, silverware, sides) to plates as specified by the chef.
- Organization: Keep the pass-through window clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies (rags, ramekins, sauces, etc).
- Problem Solving: Quickly identify missing items or errors and coordinate with the kitchen to fix them before the food is delivered to guests.
Memorization: Ability to memorize table numbers, seat numbers, and items on our menu.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
