What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSISTANT AREA DIRECTOR position at DECA HQ?
In this position the incumbent serves as the Assistant Area Director. In this capacity, the incumbent functions as an alter ego and full assistant chief or deputy to the assigned Area Director, who is responsible for tactical operations of all of the commissaries within their assigned geographical jurisdiction

Qualifications:
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. A. Creditable specialized experience includes: GS-14
- Managing mission activities and multi-appropriation financial programs and funding frameworks.
- Experience leading major commissary and/or operational programs including logistics, acquisition, systems, and facility planning.
- Experience conducting long-range studies, performance reviews, and risk analyses to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Coordinating crisis-response actions, executing confidential inquiries.

- Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. - For GS-14: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-13.
- Time after competitive appointment.
