What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver position at DeBuck's Sod Farm of Wisconsin, Inc?
Workers will operate commercial motor vehicles requiring a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to transport harvested sod, agricultural materials, equipment, and supplies between fields, storage areas, and customer delivery locations. Driving duties are an essential and regular part of the job.
Workers will load, secure, transport, and unload sod pallets and related materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, straps, and other securing devices in compliance with DOT safety regulations. Drivers will be responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining required logbooks, and ensuring vehicles are operated safely and legally at all times.
In addition to driving duties, workers will assist with sod farm operations as needed, including harvesting sod, stacking and banding pallets, field maintenance, irrigation setup, equipment cleaning, and general farm labor associated with sod production. Workers must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift and carry heavy materials, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Workers must possess a valid CDL or be eligible to obtain one prior to performing driving duties and must maintain a clean driving record as required by the employer’s insurance carrier and applicable law.
