Join our dedicated team as a Residential Counselor / Youth Care Worker, where you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding youth in residential settings. Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor youth in residential facilities, ensuring their safety and adherence to program rules
- Implement behavioral health and behavioral management plans to promote positive conduct
- Conduct intake assessments and maintain accurate case management documentation
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary, de-escalating conflicts and ensuring safety for all
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accordingly
- Facilitate engaging activities that support social work objectives, including skill-building exercises and recreational programs
- Maintain detailed records through data entry, filing, and data collection to support ongoing case management efforts
- Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills and security protocols to protect residents and staff
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience working with youth or vulnerable populations
- Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage conflicts effectively
- Background in childcare, social work, behavioral health or related fields; home & community care experience is a plus
- Knowledge of addiction counseling, medication administration, and conflict management techniques
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality during intake, data entry, and case management processes
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, families, and external agencies
- Valid certification in first aid; LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) experience is advantageous but not required
- Security awareness and experience in maintaining a safe environment within residential settings
