ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION

 

TITLE:                      Teachers (SPS employees only) for Summer Enrichment 2026; number contingent upon enrollment

 

APPLICATIONS:    Applications will be accepted from Monday, April 16, 2026, through Friday, May 29, 2026.

 

REPORTS TO:         Building Principal or Designee

 

FUNDING:               Various Funding Sources (pending)

 

SALARY:                  $50.00/hour Working with Students

$35.00 Prep Time

                                               

WORK SCHEDULE

 

Program Schedule: Monday, July 6th - Thursday, July 30th from 8:00 a.m.-1:45 p.m.

 

Work Schedule: Monday, July 6th - Thursday, July 30th, from 7:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

 

Teachers are required to attend mandatory training with Summer Coordinator

 

Program Coordinator Staff Meeting: Date to be selected by Coordinator

Communicated and facilitated by School Program Coordinator-Coordinator is responsible to train Summer School Staff on selected curriculum and summer expectations.

 

 

DUTIES:

  1. Reports to the building Principal or Designee and collaborates to advance instructional priorities.
  2. Analyzes teacher and student attendance data to identify trends and implement strategies that support student engagement and academic success.
  3. Facilitates clear and proactive communication with families and students to support instructional goals.
  4. Leads the administration and analysis of pre- and post-tests to inform instructional planning and student progress monitoring.
  5. Designs and implements instructional strategies that enhance student learning and skill development during extended instructional time.
  6. Ensures instructional time is maximized by maintaining a structured, student-centered learning environment in designated locations.
  7. Develops and refines a program of study that aligns with students' individual needs, interests, and abilities, ensuring access to high-quality instruction.
  8. Reviews and provides feedback on lesson plans to ensure alignment with curriculum standards and instructional best practices.
  9. Assesses and reports student progress to the Building Principal, using data to guide instructional improvements.
  10. Supports the educators in fostering a positive classroom culture that reinforces student engagement and achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Presently employed as a teacher in Springfield Public Schools
  2. Experience in communicating effectively with parents.
  3. Knowledge of the goals and requirements of the Common Core and State Curriculum Frameworks and Assessments.
  4. Experience working in collaboration with administrators and teachers.
  5. Extraordinary organizational and interpersonal skills.
  6. Availability required for entire program work schedule.
  7. Secured position for school year 2026-2027
  8. Must hold a valid and current Department of Elementary and Secondary Education educator license.
  9. Bachelor’s degree with appropriate license or master’s degree with appropriate content area.
