What are the responsibilities and job description for the OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE / INTERIOR DESIGN TRADE SHOWROOM position at DEB DESIGN SOURCE LLC?
We are seeking a full-time outside sales representative to call on residential and commercial interior design firms. DEB DESIGN SOURCE is a multi-line showroom carrying high-end fabrics, wallcoverings, furniture, and other distinctive design products from a variety of luxury manufacturers. We represent lines specifically for the interior design trade.
In this position you will cultivate relationships with designers by meeting with them in person to present new product collections. This role involves maintaining contact with existing clients, reaching out to new designers, bringing sample orders and notes on client needs back to the showroom, and handling logistics like transporting samples and drop-off packages to clients, and occasionally updating libraries. The salesperson must also stay updated on product knowledge and work towards sales goals.
This is a Monday-Friday showroom-based position which involves 8 presentations per week, which include appointments outside of the showroom. Your days will also involve short visits with customers to show quick line updates and set up tabletop presentations. At times you will be scheduling in-showroom presentations and helping with special events. You will balance your time between the Scottsdale showroom (as home base) and traveling to surrounding clients. Design clients are based primarily in Scottsdale, but some are also in neighboring Valley areas, in Tucson, and in Santa Fe, NM.
This position involves
- Showing beautiful materials to high end interior designers for residential and contract/hospitality projects.
- Securing appointments and meeting with new and existing clients.
- Responding to all applicable telephone and email inquiries within a timely manner.
- Participating in all applicable sales meetings/training sessions.
- Participating in weekly staff/sales meetings.
- Communication with internal showroom service personnel to build sales and to provide excellent service to the clients.

- Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but we’re most interested in your skills, passion, and experience. 2 years in field sales required, interest or experience in interior design a plus
