Job Overview
Dearborn STEP is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate individual to join our small, dynamic team. The position is a 10-month role (following the traditional 180-day school year) with the option to be paid through 12 months.

Duties
- Supports the lead-teacher in a classroom cohort of students (maximum 8 students in a class) with social/emotional and/or learning disabilities.
- Lead staff in running electives, STEAM, P.E., and off-campus field trips
- Provides feedback to the larger team in meetings regarding outside-of-class milieu presentation
- Responsible for tracking the daily attendance of students
- Reviews intake materials to support the assessment process
- Collaborates with the Director and Clinical Director to ensure the interventions are in alignment with program philosophy
- Contributes to a weekly written report on each student that captures their weekly performance in the milieu
- Contributes to the written assessment at the end of each student’s extended evaluation
- Supports coverage of therapeutic milieu as needed
- The Teaching Assistant is supervised by the STEP Director
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- School experience preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Pay: $40,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
