PROFESSIONAL STAFF POSITIONS
TITLE: Social Responsibility Technician
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Demonstrate proficiency in English.
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of college preferred.
Successful experience in building collaborations and capitalizing upon existing inter agency communications.
Ability to relate to the needs and concerns of the diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds of parents.
Ability to work with at-risk students on attendance, discipline and social development.
Willingness to learn new skills and expand professional knowledge.
Must have organizational and other skills related to carrying out all of the responsibilities specified in the job description.
REPORTING
RELATIONSHIPS: Principal
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with the administrator and social workers to identify needs of at-risk students in the areas of discipline, attendance and social development.
Develop positive relationships with students identified as at-risk due to attendance, discipline and social responsibility in and out of the classroom.
Devise an action plan to address the needs of students that are struggling with social responsibility in the areas of attendance, discipline and interaction with other students and adults in the building.
Work as a support mechanism for students that struggle with social skills in and out of the classroom.
Work with a specific group of students identified as at-risk and schedule weekly meetings to discuss progress in the areas of attendance, discipline and social development that impacts academics.
Develop and organize events that support student growth in social development.
Keep records of all meetings and activities as well as collect program reporting forms and evaluation data as requested by the program administrator.
Implement restorative practices.
Build relationships with students and empower them to problem solve.
Establish formal and informal communication channels with at-risk students and their parents to establish a support protocol.
Participate on committees and in organizations related to student achievement socially and academically.
Ongoing collaboration with the school social workers, administration, community liaisons, counselors, teachers, and parents.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by the program administrator.
