Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Services provided are ophthalmology (cataract cases), general, gyn, urology, ortho-foot & hand, ENT and plastics.
Location: Dearborn-Fairlane
Hours of operation: 0630-1500, occasionally may be asked to stay later to finish cases. Department is open Monday - Friday
Must be flexible with days in order to meet the department needs. No weekends, No on call, No holidays
Contingent Option 1:
Unit-based contingent that reports directly to the Unit Manager/Unit Director.
Meets all accountabilities of a Registered Nurse. (Refer to Job Description, Registered Nurse, F02426).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
Previous 1-2 years recent related clinical nursing experience and a demonstrated level of performance and practice required.
Must be flexible with days in order to meet the department needs.
Scrubbing experience preferred.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced surgical environment (3 Rooms)
Must have good communication skills and be a team player.
Knowledge of cataract surgeries is a plus due to the high volume of cases done.
Commitment is as needed.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
Previous Operating Room experience required.
