Dearborn and Associates Institute for Joint Restoration and Research is an orthopaedic surgical specialty practice with clinical offices in Menlo Park and Fremont, California. 


ABOUT THIS POSITION

As a licensed and certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), you will have the unique opportunity to a join and contribute to a seasoned team caring for patients with hip and knee arthritis. Dr. Dearborn has set the industry standard for joint replacement care, pioneering the concept of a hospital-based program dedicated to arthroplasty and more recently recreating that entity in the outpatient surgery space. The Institute pursues compassionate, efficient care with the lowest incidence of complications, attracting patients from all over the Bay Area and beyond.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Work week is approximately 40 hours with clinic, OR and administrative time.

·      Evaluate and treat patients with hip and knee arthritis

·      Assist in surgery

·      Perform preoperative evaluations, teaching and documentation

·      Present cases efficiently to an audience at weekly care conferences

·      Order and evaluate diagnostic studies

·      Prescribe medications

·      Perform therapeutic injections

·      Order physical therapy, occupational therapy


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·      Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

·      Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

·      Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of California


·      Physician Assistant Certification

·      An individual Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license (Schedule II-V)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·      Clinical and surgical experience, including wound closure

·      Demonstrated competency using EPIC electronic medical records systems
