What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Sales Manager position at Dean Team Subaru?
This is not a desk-manager role. This is a leadership role.
Dean Team Subaru is hiring a proven Automotive Sales Manager who can lead people, drive volume, protect gross, and elevate the customer experience. We are looking for a heavy hitter with prior Sales Manager experience and prior Finance Manager experience in a franchised dealership environment. Not someone who has worked around F&I. Not someone who understands it from the outside. You must have actually lived the Finance Manager role and know how to drive back-end performance the right way.
Subaru owners value trust, transparency, product knowledge, and long-term relationships. We need a leader who can win in a high-volume environment while developing people, building accountability, and creating a sales process that performs at a high level every day.
What you will own
- Lead, coach, and hold the sales team accountable to daily activity, appointments, showroom traffic, follow-up, and closing standards
- Drive new-car volume, front-end gross, and strong F&I handoffs and back-end performance
- Train and develop salespeople, closers, and future leaders
- Monitor CRM discipline, lead response, appointment-show process, and deal flow
- Work cross-functionally with F&I and leadership to improve funded deal quality, lender performance, and customer satisfaction
- Recruit, interview, and help build a stronger bench
- Use data and reporting to make decisions, not guesswork
What you must bring
- Prior Automotive Sales Manager experience in a franchised dealership
- Prior Automotive Finance Manager experience in a franchised dealership
- Track record of leading and developing a sales team, not just desking deals
- Strong understanding of lender programs, deal structure, product presentation, compliance, and back-end performance
- Experience in a high-volume environment
- Strong CRM and process-management skills
- High standards, strong follow-through, and the ability to lead from the front without becoming the whole show
What success looks like
- Higher salesperson productivity
- Better appointment-to-show and show-to-close performance
- Stronger front-end and back-end results
- Better team accountability and lower avoidable turnover
- Great customer experience and long-term owner relationships
