About the Job:
Position is responsible for developing, organizing, and administering a comprehensive safety and health program which complies with federal and state occupation safety and health regulations. Duties include: Implements and coordinates a comprehensive safety and health program involving all levels of supervision, all employees and sub-contractors. Communicates safety practices and policies and provides training to ensure safe work practices. Tracks training requirements in compliance with record keeping regulations.

- Accident prevention methods and techniques
- Understanding of the construction industry and equipment
- Construction safety principals including the requirements of the Occupational, Safety and Health Act
- Comprehensive knowledge of the use and proper safety processes for company equipment and materials
- Workers’ compensation rules and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions in construction sites
- Multi-tasking in an environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Company and personnel, safety, and health policies
- Leading, managing, and organizing
- Analyzing and evaluating facts and evidence and to formulate sound conclusions
- Interpreting data and preparing reports
- Maintaining safety and health records and developing forms

- Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) standards.
Education/Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited college or University with a bachelor’s degree in Occupation Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or a closely related field.
- Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work
- OSHA 500 Certification or Certified Safety Professional status preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Positions in this class typically require: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, driving, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions and intense noises.
- Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
