Medical Assistant II - Urology
Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant II to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support within a Urology setting while delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with daily patient care and clinic operations.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and consultations.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and other patient information accurately.
- Assist providers with examinations and minor office procedures as directed.
- Perform clinical tasks within the scope of training and applicable requirements.
- Support patient intake, rooming, scheduling, and efficient patient flow.
- Prepare examination rooms, instruments, and supplies for patient visits.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate professionally with patients and families, providing clear instructions and answering routine questions.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to support quality patient care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection prevention, and safety standards.
- Assist with referrals, authorizations, prescription requests, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Urology practice.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous Medical Assistant experience required.
- Experience in an outpatient or specialty clinic setting preferred.
- Urology experience preferred.
- Strong patient service and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
