The Role
This hybrid position blends precise estimating with hands-on project management. You will be responsible for pricing projects accurately, securing profitable work, and managing jobs from contract award through on-time, on-budget completion. The role offers stability with the energy of a growth-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates based on architectural and structural drawings.
- Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals.
- Manage projects through all phases — scheduling, budgets, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, and site supervisors.
- Oversee fabrication, delivery, and erection schedules to ensure quality and client satisfaction.
- Utilize estimating and project management software to track progress and costs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5–15 years of experience in structural or miscellaneous steel fabrication.
- Proven background in both estimating and managing projects.
- Proficiency with CAD, Tekla, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Excel, or industry-specific estimating software (e.g., FabSuite, STRUMIS, EBM).
- Strong understanding of U.S. building codes and AISC standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with shop teams, field crews, and clients.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
