What are the responsibilities and job description for the Implementation Manager position at DealerWorks?
Full-Time | Travel Required (up to 2 weeks/month)
DealerWorks is the fastest-growing transaction management platform in the automobile dealership industry. We help dealerships streamline operations, modernize workflows, and connect teams with the tools they need to succeed.
We are hiring Implementation Specialists who will take the lead on onsite installs, manage all pre-install groundwork, and deliver engaging, effective user training for DealerWorks at dealerships nationwide. You will be the person who turns complex rollouts into smooth launches—working directly with teams on the ground, shaping how they operate, and seeing the results firsthand.
Not all roles in the automotive world are created equal. If you want to make a real impact on dealership operations but don’t want to stay parked in the same place every day, this role hits the sweet spot.
What You’ll Do
- Work directly with the assigned Account Manager/Agent to ensure expectations, timelines, and deliverables stay tight
- Own the full onboarding cycle from pre-install planning through go-live
- Manage pre-install prep: coordinate with dealership leadership, IT teams, and department heads; confirm network requirements; gather key setup details
- Build install and training schedules and keep all stakeholders aligned
- Install and configure DealerWorks onsite
- Train department leaders and staff on workflows, features, and best practices
- Troubleshoot basic network issues and validate device/terminal connectivity
- Document install details, configuration settings, and handoff notes
- Represent the company professionally while traveling to client locations
What You Need
- Working knowledge of DealerWorks (or the ability to learn quickly)
- Basic networking competency (LAN/WLAN, whitelisting, device connectivity)
- Strong communication skills and confidence leading group trainings
- Ability to manage schedules, coordinate with multiple departments, and keep installs tight and on track
- Willingness to travel up to two weeks per month — all travel expenses covered
- Ability to help with support for your dealerships
Nice to Have
- Solid understanding of automotive dealership operations
- Experience with dealership DMS platforms (Reynolds, CDK, Tekion, Dealertrack, etc.)
- Prior implementation, onboarding, or dealership tech experience
- Familiarity with payment terminals, in-store hardware setups, and cloud-based platforms
- POS and payments experience
If you’re energized by travel, hands-on work, and helping dealerships modernize how they run, this position gives you the reach and responsibility to actually make it happen.

- You take ownership of projects from start to finish and are organized under pressure.
- You can translate technical details into practical, easy-to-follow training.
- You adapt quickly and stay flexible when every dealership has its own way of doing things.
