Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Door Painter to join our manufacturing team. In this role, the Door Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing door units to meet quality and production standards. The Door Painter operates paint booths, spray equipment, and related machinery to apply finishes while ensuring each door unit meets customer specifications. This role includes reading and interpreting work orders, performing routine equipment inspections and maintenance, monitoring product quality, stocking materials for production, and preparing completed door units for shipping. The Door Painter is expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements, and work collaboratively with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of customer orders.

Responsibilities

• To perform regular maintenance and housekeeping tasks around work area and machines;
• To operate paint booth, sprayer box, heater box, and other hand and power tools necessary to complete assigned tasks;
• To verify dimensions and appearance of component parts for adherence to specifications before assembly;
• To read, interpret, and prepare correctly the intended door unit from an order ticket;
• To perform machine checks and routine maintenance;
• To compile and report all machine issues and potential problems;
• To ensure the associated door shops are stocked and supplied with correct door units and related materials requiring paint;
• To report any and all ongoing personnel and safety issues to the Interior Door Shop Supervisor or the HR Department;
• To notify the Interior Door Shop Supervisor of all defective materials and damage as soon as it occurs;
• To adhere to all company and safety policies, including wearing all required PPE;
• To wear proper work attire, including close-toed shoes, safety vests, and safety glasses at all times while moving about the warehouse;
• To locate and stock materials necessary to complete assigned tasks;
• To prepare door units for shipping;
• To read, write, and communicate in a professional manner;
• To work normal operating hours, including overtime when necessary; and
• To perform any other duties required to complete assigned tasks.

• Education/Experience. Less than a high school education, or six (6) months of related training or experience, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate professionals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret a measuring tape. Ability to use reason and logic to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
• Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations. All applicants must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• Physical Demands. Employees are regularly required to do the following for:
• Employees are regularly required to: stand, walk, use hand and power tools, lift and move materials between 5 and 50 lbs., and work and communicate effectively with other employees.
• Employees are occasionally required to: climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or bend at the waist, lift and move materials up to 100 lbs.
• Required specific vision abilities include: close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
