Description: Customer-orientated salesperson that assists customers in both selecting and purchasing building materials for their projects. The salesperson must have a strong knowledge of building materials and their respected specifications. Alongside knowledge the salesperson must also have exceptional communication skills as they will be communicating with customers and all departments at Dealers Northland Supply.
Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred
-Proven experience in building materials sales or a similar sales role
-Strong knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and the building process
-Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage customers
-Knowledge of negotiations and closing skills, with the ability to work around client objections
-Proficiency in using Quick Books system and Microsoft Office applications, or willingness to learn
-Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
Responsibilities:
-Engage with customers in a professional manner while providing guidance to meet their needs for building materials.
-Demonstrate a strong understanding of building materials and product specs to effectively advise customers.
-Process sales transactions (prepare and deliver sales estimates, sales orders, purchase orders) accurately using Quick Books, including cash, credit, and financing options.
-Follow all company sales procedures and policies, keep accurate sales records, and maintain positive customer-salesperson relationships.
-Keep up with industry trends, new products, and best practices in the building materials sector
-Listen to customer feedback/concerns, and provide recommendations to best fit their needs and budget
-Contribute to the overall organization and cleanliness of the sales environment
-Create professional relationships with contractors, vendors, and builders to keep up with project opportunities.
-Provide post-sale support, including addressing any product issues, coordinating returns or exchanges, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the buying process.
-Communicate with the yard staff to coordinate stock and assign orders.
