POSITION: Director of Advancement
ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Vision - All Deaf see and know Jesus
Mission - To effectively communicate the Gospel of Jesus with Deaf people
Core Strategies:
1. Create and engage Deaf people with high-impact visual media in American Sign Language
2. Partner with and equip others to create and engage Deaf people with high-impact visual
media in their sign language
Core Methods:
1. Jesus Movie in different sign languages - original in ASL, sign dub in other languages
2. Revised and expanded American Sign Language Version to include footnotes, translators
handbook and commentaries
3. High Quality Media
LOCATION: Deaf Missions' Main Offices, Council Bluffs, lowa or Remote
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
POSITION SUMMARY: Design and Execute Funding Strategy of Deaf Missions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute annual giving plans, manage major gifts,
grants, and campaigns.
- Donor Care: Build relationships with donors, ensure timely acknowledgments, and share
ministry impact.
- Reporting: Track giving trends and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Collaboration: Work with communications and program teams to align appeals and events.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead development staff or volunteers.
- Partnerships: Engage churches, sponsors, and ministry partners to expand support.
- Be willing to visit supporting churches and donors.
- Meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Keep fundraising Christ-centered and aligned with ministry values.
- Maintain donor database and financial transparency.
- Innovate new giving opportunities and campaigns.
- Represent the ministry at events and with key partners.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree (or years of experiences)- Fundraising Experience and Training
- Marketing Experience and Training
