What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Development position at Deaconess Pregnancy & Adoption?
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser and leader who can lead our development team to execute a fundraising plan to move the agency’s mission forward. This is a full-time position with benefits. The work schedule is traditional office hours with weekend & evening hours required occasionally. The position serves as an ambassador for the agency at large, meeting with donors and granting organizations, cultivating community relationships, and overseeing all external communications and fundraising events.
The Director Development must be:
- Knowledgeable in fundraising strategy and best practices
- Experienced in leadership and committed to developing people
- Skilled in organization and able to handle responsibility and working independently
- A high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential client and donor information and situations
- Strong in communication skills both verbally and in writing
- A team player and willing to adapt to meet the needs of the organization
Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Minimum of 5-8 years of successful non-profit fundraising and general development activities required. Minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity directly supervising staff. Salary is commensurate with experience.
