  • Job Title : Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical
  • Facility : Deaconess Gateway Hospital
  • Specialty : Medical-Surgical
  • Contract Length : 13 weeks
  • Start Dates : 3 / 10 or 3 / 24
  • Guaranteed Hours : 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
  • Shift Requirement : 12hr Nights 6 : 30-7
  • Float Requirement : First to float within skillset.

    • Job Requirements

  • Must have current active compact license
  • Minimum Experience : Two years of strong Med / Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience
  • Charting Experience : Recent EPIC experience required

    • Schedule Information

  • Weekend / Holiday Requirement : Three weekends out of every six week schedule
  • Every other holiday

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Patient Population : Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients – CVAs, elective back / neck surgeries, post-op cranis, cerebral angiogram. General medical and psych.
  • Skillset : NIHSS / dysphagia screen / strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s / straight cath / Foleys, initiate / titrate heparin gtts., blood / blood product administration / venipuncture / blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
