THE ORGANIZATION De Marillac Academy exists to honor and celebrate the unique gifts and talents of our students, so that they find their voice, reach their potential and serve the community. Grounded in family partnerships, our all-scholarship fourth through eighth grade Catholic education serves the heart of the Tenderloin and beyond. Through the graduate support program, we continue to provide educational, personal and financial support to each of our students and families. De Marillac Academy opened in 2001 as an independent, Lasallian Vincentian Catholic school with a class of nineteen sixth graders. Today De Marillac serves 110 fourth through eighth grade students, 300 alumni through the Graduate Support Program, and 277 school families. OUR MISSION Inspired by the inherent and unique gifts of our students and graduates, De Marillac Academy, located in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco, ignites academic, spiritual, and social emotional growth througha Lasallian Vincentian Catholic educational experience. In partnership with families and community, through an all-scholarship 4th-8th grade Academy and Graduate Support Program, we accompany our students through middle school, high school and into early adulthood, as they develop a strong sense of self, purpose, and service to others.

Job Summary
A De Marillac Academy teacher is a talented and committed teacher ready to contribute to a positive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and socio-emotional wellness for all students. DMA teachers serve as an academic, emotional, and spiritual model in the Lasallian Vincentian formation of students. In addition to providing direct classroom instruction, teachers partner closely with our Academic Resource program and school counseling teams to provide holistic care and communication to students and their families. Teachers also serve as mentors to the Associate teacher on their grade-level team. Teachers strive to create an environment where students can achieve their highest potential, as measured by demonstrable academic and social gains. The De Marillac Academic Calendar includes summer school and is 11 months long. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and Teaching ? Teach one or more core subjects (Language Arts, History, Math, Religion, and Science) ? Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to create an engaging and safe classroom setting ? Provide differentiated instruction ? Provide reasonable accommodations as stated in student ISP ? Prepare students to lead prayers for morning assemblies ? Develop and implement curriculum maps and weekly lesson plans ? Develop and implement classroom community activities ? Utilize testing results and data such as STAR to inform and differentiate instruction based on individual and class results Serve as Religious Coordinator ? Plan Mass with homeroom teachers by creating Mass scripts, preparing the slides, and assigning students ? Coordinate with community partners for Mass outside of DMA ? Prepare, plan, and execute retreats for each grade level ? Develop and implement a retreat sequence for each grade level ? Plan and coordinate service projects for each grade level ?
