About the Role:

The Janitor/Custodian 2 plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within various facilities across the United States. This position involves performing a wide range of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that all areas meet established standards of hygiene and appearance. The Janitor/Custodian 2 is responsible for the upkeep of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas, contributing directly to the health and safety of all building occupants. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe usage.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a commercial or institutional cleaning environment.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Certification in custodial or cleaning services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with building occupants.
• Basic maintenance skills such as minor repairs or equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure all fixtures are in proper working order.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with facility guidelines and environmental regulations.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to supervisors.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for meetings or special events as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
• Respond to urgent cleaning requests and spills to maintain a safe environment at all times.
