Role Description
The successful Engineer at DE Design Works enjoys working in a casual collaborative team environment with other engineers and customers on a variety of product development projects which typically include custom hardware and software, wired and wireless communications technologies, control systems, and user interfaces. The team member is comfortable working independently and collaboratively on multiple projects, balancing priorities, designing PCBA layouts and enclosures for complex analog, power, and high-speed digital circuits, and strives for continuous learning. The engineer will work closely with lead engineers to layout complicated printed circuit board assemblies, create Solid Works files, and be skilled at trouble-shooting manufacturing and design issues. Desired Skills & Experience
Responsibilities:
Design embedded printed circuit board hardware and software test plans based on block diagrams and schematics. Document test procedures for new product development projects. Complete Functional, ESD, RFI, EMC testing of First-Article (POC/EVT/DVT, TRL1-7) units and provide feedback to designers. Be responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) and all lab assets. Maintain DE’s Quality Management System (QMS). Prototype tracking system and hardware release control. Design and build functional testers. View and disseminate PCB schematics and layouts and communicate and document design and manufacturing issues. Support DFM/DFX reviews. Support software testing and User Interface Experience testing. Support pre-compliance and compliance certification testing for conformance to standards for UL, IEC, SAE, CSA, ETL, FDA, FCC, TUV, and MIL-STD. Review designs for compliance gap analysis. Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting. Assist in ISO compliance preparation activities. Support production build testing activities and compliance documentation. Work with management, the engineering team, and customers to develop and document requirements, procedures, and production documentation in a continuous improvement framework.
Qualifications
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, with extensive experience in professional projects. Strong communication skills are necessary, with skills that allow productive discussion at the appropriate level of detail with customers, team members and management. Experience as a project lead, software architect, program manager, or engineering lead is desired.

Experience in documentation, test, prototype builds, using PCB lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and dynamometers, as well as working with a team of engineers. Prior development of quality procedures, documentation, source control, design for manufacturing, compliance. Education in analog and digital circuits and compliance.
