Program Description: DDI Vantage empowers vulnerable children and families to reach their full potential. Serving the community since 1971, this non-profit organization offers Early Intervention, Early Head Start Home-based services and Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships.
Position Description: The part-time (19-hour/week) Spanish Interpreter provides oral interpretation and written translation services for Early Intervention staff and the children and families served.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules appointments for the initial family visit, confirms other scheduled appointments, and makes phone calls to families to communicate information from the service providers for families speaking a language other than English.
- Provides precise interpretation of DDIV services to the family.
- Translates Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for families as requested.
- Accompanies service providers on visits to non-English speaking families and serves as an oral interpreter and translator of home visit reports.
- Provides interpretation to families when they have questions for service providers.
- Assists in child-find activities.
- Participates in staff in-service training, serves on committees, and attends workshops and conferences as requested or approved.
- Completes written documentation in a timely manner to ensure program compliance.
- Attend team meetings as necessary and all mandatory DDI VANTAGE meetings.
- Demonstrates professionalism in all aspects of the job.
- Safeguards the confidentiality of all clients, at all times.

Qualification Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of related experience in interpreting and translating another language. Experience working with infants and toddlers is a plus.
- A state and federal background screen and motor vehicle records check will be conducted on all new hires.
