Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for order processing and cash handling
- Engage with customers warmly, providing friendly service and answering their questions about menu items
- Manage food safety standards by handling food properly, maintaining cleanliness, and following food preparation protocols
- Assist in food handling and basic food preparation to support café operations
- Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and adhering to health regulations
- Support sales goals by promoting menu items and upselling when appropriate
Experience
- Prior barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for coffee culture is essential
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality service
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and effective communication abilities
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and basic math for cash handling and retail math tasks
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
