Position Overview
The Facility Manager at DCX Goodyear 1 is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of DCX’s state-of-the-art colocation and high-density compute data center. This role ensures the facility continuously meets or exceeds all Service Level Objectives (SLOs) defined in the DCX Service Level Agreement (SLA) for power, cooling, humidity, network availability, and access control.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional with experience managing mission-critical facilities and a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and building management systems. The Facility Manager will oversee a team of technicians and vendors, implement MOP/SOP/EOP processes, and act as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
● Oversee operations of all critical infrastructure systems including power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling, and environmental systems.
● Ensure compliance with all DCX Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
● Maintain uptime for all conditioned power and network systems as per DCX SLA.
● Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and DCIM dashboards for performance and anomaly detection.
● Schedule, execute, and document all preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
● Maintain accurate as-built drawings, one-line diagrams, and equipment documentation.
Vendor & Contractor Management
● Supervise and coordinate on-site contractors for electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and security systems.
● Verify vendor compliance with safety policies, MOP approval processes, and data center access procedures.
● Review and approve vendor work plans, ensuring risk mitigation and operational continuity.
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction
● Serve as on-site liaison for DCX customers, vendors, and invited guests.
● Ensure customer maintenance windows, work activities, and access requests comply with DCX’s Data Center Rules and Acceptable Use Policy (dcx.us/acceptable-use-policy and dcx.us/rules).
● Support customer onboarding, site tours, and operational briefings.
Compliance & Safety
● Maintain OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and local code compliance for all facility systems.
● Implement and enforce DCX safety policies, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and confined space protocols.
● Maintain accurate incident logs and coordinate root cause analyses for all operational events.
Reporting & Administration
● Produce daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports including power usage, cooling efficiency, maintenance activities, and incident summaries.
● Manage facility budgets for maintenance, utilities, and capital improvements.
● Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews.
Qualifications
Required
● Minimum 7 years of experience managing mission-critical and/or industrial facilities.
● Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical and control systems.
● Demonstrated experience executing MOPs and emergency procedures in live environments.
● Proven vendor management and customer service skills.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CMMS, and building automation systems.
● Ability to work flexible hours, including after-hours maintenance events and on-call rotations.
Preferred
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
