We are privately held American owned Small Business made up of five (5) vertically integrated manufacturing and assembly divisions, each with their own history, specializations and products.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Estimating Engineer Intern works in a fast-paced role and has the primary responsibility to create accurate quotations in a timely manner existing and prospective customer base. The Estimating Engineer Intern reports to the General Manager, works closely with external and internal customers and interfaces with personnel across all departments. There will be opportunities as well to learn Engineering Planning, Create BOM, Redline drawings needed as time permits.
Key Performance Indictors:
• Maintain accurate log of all customer requests for quote
• Research and identify any historical pricing or build data related to assembly part numbers
• Develop quotations inclusive of all customer requirements
• Prepares cost analysis by calculating materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead cost incurred in the assembly
• Develop and maintain a technically proficient understanding of SCB's processing capabilities as well as our quality system, general procedures and applicable industry standard specifications
• Work with vendors and negotiate to get best pricing possible for required material
• Work closely with customers to understand product/part specifications and respond to in-depth customer questions and inquiries.
• Aiding manufacturing and quality personnel as needed
Qualification/ Experience:
High School diploma required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience in Aerospace preferred
Able to identify customer-specific requirements
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, parts lists, product specs, quality clauses
Understanding ITAR requirements for technical data, drawings and parts etc.
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
Knowledge in interpreting engineering drawings is a plus

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
