Qualifications:
Hold a valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate CTE endorsement for the subject area.
Candidates with relevant industry experience may qualify for a Practitioner Occupational License while completing an approved educator preparation program.
Industry experience: Depending on the license pathway, a minimum amount of relevant work experience in the subject is required.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum tailored to the specific CTE program, following TDOE and local district guidelines.
- Instruct students in the proper and safe use of all tools, equipment, and technology associated with the course.
- Provide a balance of theoretical and practical, hands-on learning experiences to ensure skill development.
- Assess student performance through both formal and informal methods, including projects, written exams, and practical skills assessments.
- Manage and maintain the classroom, lab, and equipment to ensure a safe and functional learning environment.
- Enforce classroom and safety rules, taking all necessary precautions to protect students, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and all other required documentation.
- Work with special education teachers to modify curriculum and accommodations for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Establish and advise a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), such as FBLA or SkillsUSA.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and industry professionals to arrange work-based learning, internships, and advisory committee meetings.
- Attend required staff development activities, meetings, and conferences to stay current with industry trends and teaching methodologies.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and program goals.
