Qualifications:

Able to become CPR certified

Able to become First Aid Certified

Able to read, understand, and execute the rules and regulations of the Standards for School-Age Child Care Programs

A high school diploma or GED is required, and applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Excellent listening, communication, and reliable individual

Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

1. Assist in the planning and implementation of the daily program under the direction of the Site Director
2. Assist in providing a safe and supportive environment for all children
3. Assist in keeping accurate documentation of attendance, children's files, emergency drills, accident/illness/behavior reports, administration of medicine, and lesson plans
4. Assist in all general housekeeping tasks
5. To be responsible for the management and supervision of children at all times, including activity areas
6. To assist in the planning & implementation of activities appropriate to children's needs and interests
7. To be aware of the Site director's job description and be able to fill their position on a temporary basis
8. Assist in the preservation of all program supplies & equipment
9. Attend all in-service workshops and office meetings
10. Keep certifications current in CPR, First Aid & Bloodborne pathogens while receiving all necessary and required training courses in child abuse prevention and other required courses.
11. To be able to consistently stand, walk, bend, run, stoop,, kneel, crawl, croach, pushing and /or pulling, some climbing and balancing as well as lifting & carrying (up to 40 lbs) to attend to each child's interests and program needs
12. Support children's emotional and social development, encourage understanding of others, and positive self-concepts
13. To have an active and open line of communication with parents, informing them of all facility closings, activities, information on their children, and other important issues
14. Shall be knowledgeable and follow the Policies and Procedures as outlined in the staff Handbook and State Scope of Rules for School-Aged Childcare Programs.
15. Should arrive at the program 10 minutes before the program starts.

Hours: Available 6 AM-6 PM Compensation Package: $12.00 All employees

Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.

Posture:

Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and sitting on the floor.

Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods

Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Lifting:

Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); Occasional heavy lifting (40 pounds or over) and positioning of students with physical disabilities.

Environment:

Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise.

Mental Demands:

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
