Job Summary:
- Role: Product Manager – Financial Services / Private Markets
- Location: Boston, MA (4 days onsite, hybrid, local applicants only)
- Type: 6-month contract, W2 only (no sponsorship)
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the product roadmap for investment management and private markets platforms (Private Equity & Private Credit).
- Partner with investment, operations, fund accounting, and technology teams to gather and translate business requirements into product features.
- Lead product discovery, definition, and delivery for:
- Investment operations workflows
- Fund accounting and transaction lifecycles
- Market and security reference data
- Data ingestion, enrichment, and distribution
- Define/manage product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for agile teams.
- Ensure accurate data management and data mapping across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with data/engineering teams for SQL-based data analysis, validation, and reconciliation.
- Oversee integration of reference data (market, security, pricing, counterparty) into investment and accounting platforms.
- Serve as subject-matter expert on private market transactions (capital calls, distributions, valuations, settlements).
- Support regulatory, audit, and reporting needs through data governance and product controls.
- Measure product success using KPIs, user feedback, and efficiency improvements.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 7 years as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or Business/Product Analyst in Financial Services.
- Strong background in investment management and investment operations.
- Deep knowledge of private markets: private equity, private credit.
- Solid understanding of fund accounting, transaction processing, and lifecycle events.
- Experience with market and security reference data.
- Proven data management expertise, including data mapping across systems.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with private market/investment platforms (accounting, portfolio management, data platforms).
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Experience with large-scale system integrations or platform modernization.
- Background in asset management, asset servicing, or financial technology.
