Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate supports brand, retail, and product marketing initiatives within a fast growing, highly regulated cannabis environment. This role balances creativity, organization, and compliance awareness while collaborating across design, retail, and operations teams. The ideal individual is detail oriented, proactive, and passionate about strengthening the District Cannabis brand across digital and physical touchpoints.

Your role in caring for our plants:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with planning and executing marketing campaigns for product launches, promotions, and retail initiatives.
  • Coordinate social media calendars, support content creation, and help drive traffic to District Cannabis Retail and partner stores.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all digital and physical materials.
  • Organize and maintain a digital asset library, including photos, videos, and product renderings.
  • Support social media initiatives with brand aligned imagery, graphics, and content support.
  • Prep and distribute final marketing assets to appropriate teams and channels.
  • Manage and fulfill physical marketing requests (swag, banners, printed collateral, instore assets).
  • Collaborate with the retail team to identify marketing needs across store locations.
  • Assist in creating Daily Deals, signage, and additional materials as needed.
  • Submit marketing content for approval and ensure final assets are correctly distributed.
  • Help manage online store menus to ensure accuracy, promotional alignment, and brand consistency.
  • Manage retail SMS and email marketing campaigns with intentional, compliant outreach strategies.
  • Serve as a point of contact for marketing related needs across teams in DC and MD.
  • Ensure all marketing assets comply with state cannabis advertising regulations.
  • Compile weekly or monthly reports with insights, recommendations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support competitive research and industry trend tracking.
  • Work closely with design and production teams to deliver timely, brand consistent assets.
  • Communicate content gaps, new assets, or store specific marketing requirements.
  • Support cross functional communication between marketing, retail, product, and operations teams.
  • Pitch new creative marketing concepts and promotional ideas.
  • Participate in team marketing meetings and planning sessions.
  • Set up and facilitate popup events, brand activations, and community marketing functions.
  • Assist with onsite photo and video production, as needed.

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent.
  • We ask that you have at least one (1) year of marketing experience.
  • We ask that you are proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • We ask that you are willing and able to visit all sites (Hagerstown, MDWashington, D.C.) routinely

  • Compliance with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Passion for cannabis.

Work Schedule/Location:

  • Hybrid/DC and MD - 40% Travel
