Distribution Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: The Distribution Coordinator in collaboration with other departments configures all set up related activities for order processing to flawlessly support all customer’s shipping requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to follow work instructions and customer specific routing guide summaries/ business rules.
• Serve as point of contact for any distribution related question and the ability to trouble shoot and support with any problems within the department.
• Ability to assist department supervisor with the scheduling and tracking of all outbound shipments.
• Responsible for delegating workload and assignments to personnel accordingly to ensure meeting distribution deadlines.
• Collaborate with supervisor for shift planning to ensure the necessary personnel coverage.
• Support leadership by identifying productivity issues and/or concerns that could negatively impact the distribution floor.
• Collaborate with leadership to optimize labor allocation and workflow for maximum efficiency.
• Ability to understand, follow & verify written distribution instructions, and count accurately.
• Ability to identify non-conforming orders and/or ones with defects.
• Full knowledge and understanding of B2C (business to customer) and B2B (business to business) order processing.
• Ability to train/shadow new employees in the B2C (business to customer) and B2B (business to business) areas and providing clarification and guidance as needed.
• Responsible for upholding all DCL policies and procedures.
• Adheres to 5S Standards
• Maintain compliance to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards
• Perform other job responsibilities, as necessary and/or assigned

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be computer literate and be proficient in Microsoft Office Systems and Email.
• Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. at a time when necessary.
• Must be able to work in a warehouse environment where temperature is affected by weather conditions.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.

• Must have good manual dexterity and able to do repetitive hand motions.
• Must Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must have critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION END EXPERIENCE:

• Must have at least two (2) years of relevant work experience in a Distribution or Shipping warehouse environment.
• Must have experience working with shipping management systems. JD Edwards experience is a plus.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent is preferred.
