Ocular Processing Coordinator

Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank (SDSEB) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at SDSEB is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We are seeking candidates who have previously worked within a clean room environment, are comfortable with aseptic technique, and have an eye for detail. This position will focus upon processing and distributing ocular tissue.

Key Responsibilities This Position Will Perform Include

• Assists with aseptic tissue and autologous serum eye drops (ASED) processing procedures in a clean room environment, room preparation, opening sterile supplies, and documenting information into database and appropriate logs.
• Coordinates of phlebotomy services and distribution of processed tissue gifts.
• Safely handles biohazardous human tissues and blood specimens and assists with disposal and required documentation.
• Performs inventory management through restocking, assessing par levels, and purchases supplies as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications to include Word and PowerPoint is required
• 1 year laboratory/clinical experience required
