Key Responsibilities-
Client Relationship Development & Management
- Leverage existing relationships across Northeast Florida with private developers, municipalities, counties, utilities, and public agencies.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term client relationships to drive repeat and expanded project opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the business development lifecycle, from early concept through project award.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with developers, contractors, planners, architects, and community stakeholders.
- Actively represent the firm in industry associations, community organizations, civic groups, and regional events.
- Strengthen the firm’s brand presence and visibility throughout the Northeast Florida development community.
- Identify and pursue land development and site design engineering opportunities within assigned markets.
- Monitor upcoming public and private development projects, RFQs, RFPs, and capital improvement programs.
- Lead or support pursuit strategies, teaming discussions, and go/no-go decisions in coordination with firm leadership.
- Proactively develop and manage a robust and accurate business development pipeline.
- Facilitate proposal development efforts, including messaging, positioning, and client engagement strategies.
- Work collaboratively with technical staff to convert opportunities into secured projects.
- Partner closely with engineering, planning, and leadership teams to align technical capabilities with market needs.
- Communicate client feedback, market intelligence, and competitive insights to support strategic planning.
- Assist with client presentations, interviews, and business development materials.
Required Qualifications
- Established, active network of relationships with public agencies, municipalities, and private developers in Northeast Florida.
- Demonstrated success identifying and securing design engineering opportunities for land and site development projects.
- Proven ability to cultivate existing relationships to generate new and repeat business.
- Strong understanding of:
- Land development processes
- Site civil engineering services
- Municipal and public-sector procurement processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Prior experience working with or for:
- Civil engineering firms
- Land development firms
- Public works, utilities, or municipalities
- Familiarity with Northeast Florida growth markets, zoning, entitlement, and infrastructure trends.
- Existing involvement in professional or civic organizations (e.g., ULI, NAIOP, chambers, local boards).
