Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled EMS Test Technician to join our manufacturing team. A Test Technician will test, troubleshoot, and repair Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) for quality and functionality, using specialized equipment like In-Circuit Testers (ICT) and functional test fixtures, interpreting schematics, documenting failures, and performing rework to ensure compliance with specs, bridging production and engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive testing and diagnostics on electronic assemblies, including PCB and surface mount components.
- Utilize schematics, technical drawings, and test procedures to verify product functionality.
- Perform quality inspections using automated optical inspection (AOI), calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Use hand tools such as soldering irons, screwdrivers, and other assembly tools for repairs or adjustments during testing.
- Collect data during testing processes for analysis and documentation purposes.
- Debug defective units by analyzing test results and schematics to identify root causes of issues.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards by conducting quality control and assurance checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Assist in developing or improving test automation procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols related to electronics manufacturing.
Experience
- Proven experience working with surface mount technology (SMT) assembly and PCB manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of quality control/assurance practices within electronics manufacturing environments.
- Experience with automated optical inspection (AOI), data collection systems, and debugging electronic circuits.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, schematic reading, and use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and ohmmeters.
- Hands-on experience with soldering techniques, using hand tools, and performing inspections with microscopes or AOI systems.
- Ability to analyze schematics, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and document findings accurately. Education
- Associate's degree in Electrics is required.
