What are the responsibilities and job description for the SY 26/27 SPED Math Teacher - 8th grade position at DC Prep?
📣 SPED MATH TEACHER — 8TH GRADE | DC PREP EDGEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL
What if your next teaching opportunity meant joining a team where students are achieving, teachers support one another, and everyone is expected—and supported—to Aim High?
We are looking for an exceptional 8th Grade SPED Math Teacher to join our team at DC Prep Edgewood Middle Campus (EMC).
And there is a lot to be excited about.
📈 In the latest 2025–26 DC CAPE results, 34.8% of Edgewood Middle students met or exceeded expectations in Math, compared with 28.2% across DC.
🎯 Even more exciting for our 8th Grade team: 42.5% of EMC 8th graders met or exceeded expectations in Math.
But the numbers tell only part of the story.
Behind those results is a team of educators working together, learning from one another, holding high expectations for students, and living one of our DC Prep values: Aim High.
One of our current 8th Grade teachers recently described the experience as working with “the best team” and reflected that their success and growth would not have been possible without the colleagues around them.
That is the team our next 8th Grade SPED Math Teacher will join.
You won't be expected to do this work alone. You'll join a strong Math and 8th Grade team committed to collaboration, ambitious outcomes, continuous growth, and ensuring that ALL students have access to rigorous, high-quality Math instruction.
Come Aim High with us.
Help us build on strong results—and help our 8th graders show just how much they can achieve.
