Key Responsibilities
- Lead all engineering and maintenance operations across guest villas, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
- Oversee the performance and reliability of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, water, and waste systems.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Drive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives aligned with resort goals.
- Manage, train, and mentor the engineering and maintenance team, emphasizing safety and accountability.
- Work closely with contractors, vendors, and local regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and ongoing projects.
- Develop and oversee operational budgets, capital improvement plans, and expense forecasts.
- Provide strategic support for long-term infrastructure planning and upgrades.
- Uphold safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across all engineering operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in an engineering leadership role within a luxury island resort or remote hospitality setting
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil systems
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale facility operations and preventive maintenance programs
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy-saving initiatives
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate diverse teams
- Strong financial and analytical abilities, including budgeting and CAPEX planning
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Technical degree or engineering certification strongly preferred
