Weekend Cashier - Winston

Job Summary:

This part time weekend position is at our Winston retail location. This position is responsible for quality customer service, re-arranging stock, and working as a team. The cashier will use point of sale cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers. The selected candidate will typically work 4 to 8 hours per day, 20-24 hours per week. The work schedule will be Friday, Saturday, and Sundays each week.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently rings up customer purchases using a POS system.
• Greets customers as they enter the location to make them feel welcome.
• Assists customers with questions or price discrepancies.
• Provide accurate product information to customers in person and over the phone.
• Processes account payments, purchases, returns, and exchanges according to store policy.
• Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, and answering questions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to operate available equipment, such as: computers, cash registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Basic mathematical skills, as needed, to make change and give refunds accurately.
• Become knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies, to make proper recommendations of products and services sold during training period.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and customers in a friendly and approachable manner.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with farm and ranch products and livestock is highly desired.
• Prior retail experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling required frequently to rearrange merchandise and verify stock levels.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
• May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
• Load pet supplies merchandise from pallets to the salesfloor.
