Description:

DC Engineering is seeking a motivated Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our team as an Energy Project Engineer. This role is ideal for someone passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability, with a strong foundation in engineering principles and a desire to work on impactful projects across industrial, commercial, and retail sectors.

While experience with energy modeling tools such as DOE2.2R, EQUEST, or EnergyPlus is highly valued, it is not required—we welcome candidates eager to learn and grow in this space.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver energy efficiency solutions for a variety of project types.
  • Perform energy savings calculations using engineering fundamentals including thermodynamics, mechanics, fan laws, and statistics.
  • Support utility incentive applications on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct energy modeling and simulation using tools such as DOE2.2R, EQUEST, or EnergyPlus.
  • Assist with the design and project management of custom Measurement & Verification (M&V) projects.
  • Develop internal tools and calculators to streamline energy analysis workflows.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 1–3 years of experience in energy-related engineering (entry-level candidates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply).
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software (DOE2.2R, EQUEST, EnergyPlus) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Project management experience is a bonus.
