About DC Develop

DC Develop is a growing infrastructure and land development consulting firm based in Southern Indiana, serving Indiana and Kentucky statewide. We specialize in creating sustainable solutions for municipalities, utilities, and public-private developers. Our team thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. With projects ranging from municipal infrastructure and utility operations to land development and community growth, we are committed to building better communities, one project at a time.

Position Overview

The Project Manager will play a critical role in supporting and leading diverse infrastructure and development initiatives. This position requires a versatile professional who can adapt across multiple disciplines — while supporting a variety of land development project types, and providing technical expertise, project coordination, and strong client communication.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, driven, and people-oriented, with a natural ability to problem-solve, manage complexity, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including municipal leaders, utilities, developers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual land planning using AutoCAD and other design software.

• Review and evaluate development plans, identifying QA/QC needs and cost-saving opportunities.

• Coordinate with utilities, municipal staff, subcontractors, and consultants across multiple project phases.

• Manage subcontractors on small projects, preparing bid/quote packages when needed.

• Conduct due diligence for real estate projects, including environmental, easement, and utility evaluations.

• Review engineering and construction documents with a focus on value engineering.

• Provide professional communication and reporting to elected officials, boards, and community stakeholders.

• Apply working knowledge of procurement methods (e.g., Public-Private Partnerships, Design-Build, Build-Operate-Transfer).

• Assist in preparing quotes, bids, grant application support, and progress reports for municipal projects.

• Provide technical and administrative support with minimal oversight.

• Troubleshoot operational and project challenges, offering practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Land Surveying, Urban Planning, or a related field; advanced credentials such as Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Surveyor (PS) preferred.

• 5 years of experience in land development, municipal engineering, or related fields.

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, utilities, and construction methods.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software.

• Demonstrated ability to review technical documents and provide QA/QC recommendations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with municipal officials, developers, and community members.

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Ideal Candidate Traits

• A “jack-of-all-trades” professional with broad technical exposure and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.

• Naturally humble, driven, and people-smart.

• Collaborative and solutions-oriented with the ability to balance technical expertise and client service.

• Communication focused professional.
