This position is located in the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Executive Office of the Chief of Police (EOCOP), Office of the Patrol Operations Chief (OPOC), Youth and Family Engagement Division (YFED), Cadet Corps Branch (CCB). The incumbent serves as the liaison for MPD and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) to ensure that the cadets are registered for classes, and receive the necessary tutoring to maintain the required GPA to complete the Cadet Corps Program.
This Program Coordinator (Cadet Corps) position is covered under the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) bargaining unit and you may be required to pay an agency fee through direct payroll deductions.

Work Experience
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CS-11 grade level, or its non-District equivalent, gained from the public or private sector. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience applying and understanding operational policies and procedures of organizational programs; communicating with others both orally and in writing and present information in a clear and concise manner; using computer applications to create, edit and maintain documents and spreadsheets, maintaining a schedule and calendar; and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Work Environment
The work is performed in an office setting.

The Incumbent Will Be Responsible For The Following
- Works closely with the Director of UDC to ensure that cadets are up to date on all university requirements, enrollment and registration.
- Conducts on campus integrity checks for the Cadet Corps.
- Monitors and tracks the grade point average and transcripts of the cadets.
- Processes and completes the invoices for the cadets at the end of each semester for payment.
- Develops a working relationship with UDC staff and professors to ensure that the cadets are performing within the policy and procedures set forth by the agency and UDC campus.
- Completes a monthly report for the UDC invoices.
- Coordinates, collects, maintains and updates all UDC school registration information for Cadet Corps new hires.
- Ensures the cadets complete the necessary courses within UDC and/or FEMA courses for a successful completion of the 60 college credits.
- Establishes relationships with District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) and Charter Schools to assist cadets with obtaining requisite documents needed for enrollment in UDC.
- Works with UDC staff to ensure cadets that require special accommodations such as an Individualized Education Program (IEP) are enrolled in courses that are suitable to meet their educational needs.
- Reviews and updates the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MPD and UDC to ensure that all requirements and agreements are adhered to.
- Attends meetings or performs work at locations outside the office.
- Promotes the CCB regularly and participates in Recruiting related activities at UDC and DCPS campuses.
- Keeps the Director of CCB and supervisory staff updated and informed on occurrences, issues, policy changes, and critical information related to UDC.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the MPD and MPA mission, function, and operational policies and procedures of organizational programs to effectively and accurately complete work assignments with established operational objectives.
- Knowledge of the University of District of Columbia school policies and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge and skill in applying analytical, investigative and evaluative methods and techniques to resolve problems, conduct research gather information and make recommendations.
- Ability to maintain a schedule and calendar for school payments, registration, and semester conclusions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others both orally and in writing to formulate and present information. The ability to explain and ensure cohesive and cooperative efforts.
- Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office to create, edit and maintain documents and spreadsheets.
